With a helmet far superior than that used in the Apache attack helicopter, you have no blind spots; the windshield is there, really, for psychological purposes only, so I wouldn't move the cockpit, unless you want to have this ship be atmosphere-capable. Have this configuration for high speed intercept, in atmosphere, then have the canopy slide back & up for combat.
Critique: the overall shape is great. That is what first caught my attention. I very much like the detail of the plating. What I would suggest to change is: move the cockpit back and up - where the two dark gray plates are now. Where it currently sits would have hug blind spots on either side. Maybe add some missiles and/or bombs beneath each wing. For the rear thruster (stop giggling) instead of one large engine in the center, make it 4 smaller engines... unless that's already what you were going for with the plated elements. One final detail to add would be ladder rungs added running up the side armor. It would just make it feel that much more "real" to imagine the pilots climbing in and out without some deck man wheeling over a ramp of stairs.
All in all this is a very nice design, which is precisely why I added it to my favorites.
